I have visited Hikkaduwa a few times and this is hotel was a great little find. We stayed half board so had breakfast and our evening meal included. The room was suited to what we needed it for. It was clean and functional and had a great view of the sea with a small outside seating area. Housekeeping was good and kept it clean during our stay. The pool areas were well maintained and on the beach front. The food was traditional buffet style with a good choice of dishes The staff were helpful and friendly. I would stay here again if I was to come back to Hikkaduwa
Spacious room, but lots of rooms as its a resort, thus no personal warm feeling. Amneties and facilities are in a good condition and room is soundproof. The AC was also very welcome in the April heat. Its right on the protected marine park beach where you can snorkel. As with a lot of places in SL, the prices on the menu does not include taxes which can be anything from 10 - 30%. Yesterday, the poolboy, is worth mentioning - what a lovely, friendly and helpful person! Breakfast options where numerous with Western and SL options. Would recommend Coral Sands.
We stayed at Coral Sands hotel in mid April 2017. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival by the staff who gave us a welcome drink and cold towel to refresh ourselves after our journey. The adjoining rooms were very good, with one room for adults and one for children with twin beds. We had a problem with our balcony which the management solved quickly and professionally. The customer service by all staff was very professional, we were greeted in a friendly manner by all the staff who took time to chat with us.
I recently stayed at Coral Sands Hikkaduwa. If you are looking for a stay which is more comfortable than the multitude of budget lodgings available in Hikkaduwa then I recommend Coral Sands. While it is not as fancy as Hikka Tranz which is closeby, this hotel gives value for money. The hotel has beautiful seaview and is located on the beach front. The rooms are modest with all the basic amenities required and is clean. It has a garden restaurant/bar, an all day dining restaurant and 2 moderately sized swimming pools. The only downside was that the dinner buffet although extensive in range was average in taste.
This was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our 10 night stay in Sri Lanka. The pool area and beach is spectacular (and was the main reason for choosing this hotel) and with the friendly staff and an outside bar this really made the last few days of our holiday relaxing and extremely enjoyable. The room itself we had a slight issue with damp on the wall, however, the operations manager (Sam) provided us with a service second to none and then preceded to provide us with a lunch on the hotel.
Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone visiting this hotel.
